Druids secure an important win!
After a long journey down to the opposite corner of the country, Druids managed to put some good early pressure on the home side as Jack Kenny, John Owen and Dean Rittenberg all had chances to break the deadlock early-on, but couldn’t quite hit the mark or beat Lee Idzi between the sticks.
Carmarthen had good chances themselves, with Liam Thomas leading the charge, but they couldn’t find a way through either. It looked like it would end all level.
It wasn’t until very late in the game that the deadlock was broken, and it was left to a centre-back to show the centre-forwards how it is done as Nathan Peate, back from a 3 match ban rose well to head home a corner and give Cefn Druids a 1-0 lead.
The home side hit the cross bar following a great move late in the game, but they couldn’t get back on level terms as Druids secured an important win.
The win moves The Ancients above The Old Gold in the table and pushes Druids closer to league safety.
