Druids remember Peris Jones

Before kick off last night in our NEWFA Cup match against Brymbo FC, we observed a minutes silence in memory of Peris Jones, President of the Welsh National League who passed away last week. Peris was a passionate football man and a lifetime friend of the club, he will be sadly missed. We send our condolences to his friends and family.

Druids Chairman, John Hughes expressed his thoughts about the loss of Peris Jones.

“Today was a sad day for all those football people in North East Wales. Sadly, we have lost Peris Jones, who not only served the area with his commitment to football and its administration, but his unwavering support of Welsh Football and specifically Druids.

Peris gave 59 years of devotion to the game in Wales. A tremendous ambassador, who will live on in all our special memories. A true Druid, one that will never ever be replaced.
