Druids Pre-European Fixtures
Druids faced two pre-european fixtures in as many days. Fixtures against their fellow Welsh Premier League Clubs Bala & Connahs Quay who are both Europa League Contenders.
Sunday 14.30 kick off against Connahs Quay resulted in a 2-1 loss for Druids with Quay fielding 2 different 11s first and second half demonstrating the depth their squad currently contains.
Monday 19.45 kick off against Bala Town, both sides fairly evenly matched first half with Bala scoring from the spot in the 45th min after Sheridan was brought down in the box, second half Bala pushed on securing 2 more goals, before Druids managed to show some grit a penalty by Matty Owen followed by a 90th min goal from James Davies made it 3-2 to Bala Town by the final whistle.
Despite the two defeats there was much to be taken from the two games, with invaulable game time for the players ahead of our european campaign and a oppurtunity for the managment team to fine tune the squad.
Druids are back in action tomorrow away at TNS in another pre europe friendly. KO: 19.30 at Park Hall SY11 4AS
