Under 11s V Chester (Away)
Played 3x 20mins. 1st game Drew 1-1. 2nd game Drew 1-1 & lost last game 1-0. We played out from the back all game & passed the ball around really well. We created far more chances overall & if it wasn't for their keeper we would have scored plenty. Stand out player was Jake Fox
U12s V Airbus (Away)
Cefn Druids U12's ran out winners in an exciting end to end game on Sunday 17th 2017. In a game that could have gone either way, druids desire and effort made the difference. They took the lead through Jack Davies before Airbus quickly equalised through a sloppy goal. With the score at 2-2 at half time both teams were well in it, Iwan Bennett scoring the second. The second half started 100 miles per hour with both teams having chances to take the lead. Druids eventually did take the lead through a stunning 25 yard strike, again, from Jack Davies and they quickly added a third though good pressing high up the field resulting in Airbus scoring an own goal. With a couple of minutes left Airbus did pull goal, however druids did score another though selfless running by Kian Parry setting up Jack Massey to seal a fine attacking performance and the U12's place in the FAW North Wales super 6.
Under 14s V Airbus (Away)
We turned up with a bare 11 today as still awaiting international clearance for 2 boys,1 injured & 1 unavailable. We lost 7-0 but plenty to take from the game. When in possession we pass the ball really well. The boys commitment was faultless even though they got really tired 2nd half.
Under 16s V Airbus (Away)
Probably a sign of things ahead as unluckily in the warm up Fullback Adam Liddy was carried off after going over on his ankle diagnosed as a suspected fracture we wish him well. Playing against a strong wind we defended well unfortunately going behind to a free kick which we perhaps should have dealt with better. Ht 1-0 down.
Another cross/shot from the corner flag somehow found the net within two minutes of the restart and it was always going to be a tough ask. We soon found ourselves three down . Fair play to the lads they stuck to the task and got in the game crucially we missed a penalty with twenty minutes remaining then pulled a goal back through Jake Johnson. Despite our constant pressure our hosts held on and deserved their victory.
