Druids resurgent in NEWFA Cup

Druids fielded a strong side to face Gresford in the second round of the NEWFA Cup, after disappointment the previous week dropping out of the Nathaniel MG Cup, the ancients needed a statement to show they were taking lessons from their previous defeats.

The game opened fairly evenly with both sides taking chances, a repeat of the pre season draw seemed a possibility until Naim Arsan found the back of the net after 21 minutes, Healing and Mudimu rounded off a great first half performance leaving it 3-0 at the half.

The second started much as the first had finished with Druids dominant throughout but failing to capitalise on chances, Buckley with a number of missed opportunities late on.

Gresford pulled one back in the 80th, with a direct response from Healing in the 81st securing his hat-trick for the evening.

Druids will now progress in the Cup.
