Huw Griffiths named Dafabet WPL Manager of the Month
Huw Griffiths has landed the April Dafabet Manager of the Month for the clubs efforts which saw the Druids finish eighth after being labelled favourites for the drop at the beginning of the season.
Cefn Druids' April resulted in two win and a draw, with that draw kicking off the month away to Phase Two revived Newtown AFC as the match ended 1-1 after on-loan man Ashley Ruane putting the Ancients ahead before Jason Oswell earning a point for the hosts.
The six points that Griffiths' men created were both at home firstly against Llandudno in a 3-2 win via a brace from Mike Pritchard and another Ruane effort. Druids ended the season beating relegated outfit Airbus UK Broughton 3-1 thanks to goals from Nathan Peate, Steve Blenkinsop and Adam Hesp.
Griffiths pipped the Newtown gaffer Craig Hughes to the award after the Robins man enjoyed a memorable month securing play-off football after a complete turnaround in Phase Two.
